The 7th edition of the school on Passive Imaging & Monitoring in Wave Physics: From Seismology to Ultrasound, will be held from June 3-7, 2024 at the Institut d’Études Scientifiques de Cargèse in Corsica, France.
The aim of this summer school is to bring together young scientists (students, post-docs,..) and established scientists working in the field of seismology and wave propagation in complex media, with a focus on passive imaging, monitoring and detection of weak signals.
One particularity of this summer school is that it is highly multidisciplinary, with participants working on seismology, machine learning, oceanography, acoustics and more. This enables advances in one field to benefit other disciplines. This is the seventh bi-annual school on this theme organized by our group in Cargèse (Corsica).
For the 2024 edition, our aim is to provide participants with a solid foundation in the field of diffuse wave field and to present pioneering research combining seismic noise analysis and machine learning, using new types of sensors (rotating sensors, DAS, dense arrays), and recent applications in the field of environmental seismology and seismic hazard.
